Hulhumale project exceeds the estimated time limit- not a surprise

Gayoom could not and maybe will not continue and complete any project other than selling drugs for business, which has become a major threat to the Maldivian society. Hulhumale project was such a one that had initially been declared a home for the middle class and lower, but had now become his new potential treasure.

Inventing a ‘bodukaafu’ was just another trick he led Maldivians be prey to, to get the desired votes he needed to show the world. Every year nearing the elections Gayoom would lay down some foundations that would never be completed and make up some more illusions, which fortunately now has become totally obvious to the people.

Hapless people of the Maldives had no other option but to listen to the void words of Gayoom, hoping that someday they would be able to live their dreams. And they had waited 30 years, and pretty much gotten used to the waiting too. However, the new generation has become more aware and much more intolerant now.

Like all other animals in a jungle are aware of the king lion that rules it, Maldivians are aware of Gayoom ruling and playing with their lives and rights.

Nevertheless Maldivians today have found a new hope, perhaps an awaited light at the end of a dark panel that would become their savior at the end of the day. And so have Maldivians realized the importance of the presidential vote this year that would include candidates from multi parties. And so will the Maldivians vote to exercise their rights well and to get rid of Gayoom for good.
