Maumoon wished to open Former Presidents Secretariat office: president’s office

President’s office said that the former Presidents Secretariat office was opened for the request of former president Maumoon. Press secretary of president’s office, Mohamed Zuhair said that they have opened a research office at Alivaage’ where Maumoon used to live. He also said that such a noble man needs an office for research and it’s a culture in democratic countries to provide a research office to the former president.

Zuhair said that they still know that Maumoon is the Leader of DRP, and the president’s office will provide aids to the former president as long as he accepts it. He also said that president’s office is responsible for the security of Maumoon.

Zuhair did not mention the name of authority which the research office come under and did not say the responsible department for the salary to the staffs in the office. An informer in president’s office said that its confirmed that the salaries of those staffs will be given from the President’s office’s budget, and this office comes under the administration of President’s office.
