School children mix the New Year cake at Velidhu

This year, the most traditional occasion of "New Year Cake Mix " at Velidhu was performed by the "Budding Chefs" of Maldives .

In order to strengthen up the excellent rapport maintain with neighboring islands, Velidhu invited a classful of pupils and academy staff of "Ukulahahu School" for a familiarization tour and to participate in mixing the traditional X'mas cake which is being reckoned as a rare culinary opportunity in the hospitality trade.

It was a novel experience for all those who witnessed the event and the young chefs were seen so enthusiastic and keen to offer a helping hand in mixing the cake. Thereafter the visitors were taken around the island for a FAM tour and later served with snacks and refreshments, followed by a fellowship. The staff animation team kept the crowd entertained through out the session. Each participant received a valuable gift from the Management and a DVD Player was donated to the school for the benefit of students.

The whole crowd of the island enjoyed every single minute of this unique affair and praised Velidhu Management for yet another innovative step taken towards in strengthening up the close relationship with neighboring community.
