Islamic Affairs ministry calls for media support and cooperation

What a difference ? During the 30 year old regime of Mr. Gayoom, ruling Madives under his dictatorship , always Media has been kept away from his religious campaigns. During his dictatorship regime he has always tried to hide the truth of Islam but tried his level best to Promote Maumoonism , his own releigion in the country.

At a meeting held with media personnel on Sunday, Islamic Affairs ministry has urged the ministry to assist the ministry in its efforts to increase religious awareness among the general public.

At the meeting the media was briefed on the ministry’s responsibilities, ongoing programs as well as plans for future programs.

Further information on the ministry’s working structure, workings of Figh Academy and its role and function within the ministry were also given. At present the Figh Academy comprises of 17 religious scholars.

Ministry’s media coordinator Ahmadulla speaking to Miadhu Daily expressed that the ministry was keen to improve relations with the media and eliminate all previous bad feelings developed during the former Supreme Council‘s time.

“These days’ media support and cooperation is vital, media is the bridge between the people and services, this ministry gives a high priority to involve media and seek its cooperation and support in all of its programs” Ahmadulla said.

Ministry also revealed that, in addition to its usual programs to increase the religious awareness among the public, various TV and radio programs will soon commence.
